Day 1
Scheduled flights departing from your chosen airport. Once you arrive in Lisbon Airport you will be taken by private transfer to your hotel, Hotel do Chiado 4*. Being located in Lisbon's historic district, near Bairro Alto, Rossio Square and Avenida da Liberdade you will be in a perfect position to start exploring Lisbon.
Day 2
We suggest you spend the first part of your day discovering the district of Belém which is home to some of the capital's most iconic monuments and museums such as Mosterio dos Jerónimos, Monumento dos descobrimentos and the Torre de Belém. Belém is also home to the ''Pastel de Belém'' which in our opinion are definitely worth queueing for as you wont be able to eat one anywhere else. Once back in Lisbon catch the number 28 tram for a ride through Lisbon's oldest district Alfama and head up to Castelo São Jorge with its panoramic views over the city. On the way back down from the Castle through the winding streets of Alfama you could rest up and have dinner in a typical Portuguese tasca.
Day 3
A private guided tour of Sintra including entry to the Pena Palace & Pena National Park. Along the way you will visit Cabo da Roca, Guincho Beach, Boca do Inferno, Cascais & Estoril. Entry into the park is included however lunch in the historical centre of Sintra is not. You will have free time to explore at each stop excluding Guincho Beach and Estoril.
Day 4
Check out from your hotel and transfer to Lisboa - Oriente train station to board your train to Porto. The journey takes just under 3 hours. Once you arrive at Campanha you will be transferred to your Hotel, The Editory House Ribeira Hotel 4*. The hotel is conveniently located in the historical centre of Porto so you will be in the perfect position to start exploring at your leisure.
Day 5
Another day spent at your leisure taking in the sights and sounds of Porto. We suggest you start your day visiting Palacio da Bolsa, a 30 minute tour will allow you to get better acquainted with this outstanding neoclassical style building and all it's hidden treasures inside. A short walk northwards and you will arrive at the neo-gothic Livraria Lello, regarded as one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world. Torre dos Clerigos, a baroque masterpiece is nearby and a climb to the top of the tower will reward you with a view of Porto in all its glory. A short walk from here and you will arrive at Avenida dos Aliados a grandiose avenue flanked by ornate buildings in a range of styles. After a short walk to Rua de Santa Catarina, Porto’s shopping district, you can stop off for a coffee at Café Majestic after picking up some souvenirs. Estação de São Bento is a must see, and one of Porto’s main tourist attractions with its walls adorned in thousands of tiles depicting battle scenes. From here make your way to Se Catedral, the most important religious edifice in Porto located in Batalha, very close to the walls that once protected the city. Nearby is the iconic Bridge Dom Luis I which spans the River Douro and connects Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, it can be accessed close by and the pedestrian walkway will give you the advantage of viewing the Ribeira and Port wine houses in Gaia. If you are not keen on heights you can cross the bridge by train or bus over to Gaia for your Port wine tasting at the Sandeman Lodge. Once this is finished you can either chose to finish up your evening with a quiet meal in Gaia or make your back to Ribeira for dinner.
Day 6
A full day spent out exploring the Douro Valley with a visit to two vineyards, a river cruise and lunch included.
Day 7
Spent at leisure before being transferred back to Porto Airport for your return flight home.
