Vila Galé Serra da Estrela 4*

Vila Galé Collection Serra da Estrela is a contemporary four-star hotel located in Manteigas, in the glacial valley of the River Zêzere. Surrounded by the mountains and valleys of Serra da Estrela—Portugal’s highest mountain range—the hotel offers a peaceful base from which to explore the region.

The hotel’s décor draws inspiration from the myths, traditions and landscapes of Serra da Estrela. It has 91 comfortable rooms, including nine family rooms, and its large windows make the most of the surrounding mountain scenery.

Facilities include separate outdoor swimming pools for adults and children, an outdoor hydromassage pool and a Satsanga Spa with a heated indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym and treatment rooms. The Versátil restaurant serves regional dishes and has a panoramic balcony overlooking the mountains.

Serra da Estrela is particularly well suited to walking, hiking and cycling, with several natural landmarks and traditional mountain villages within reach of the hotel. During periods of snowfall, skiing and snowboarding are also available in the higher areas of the mountain range.
