Vila Galé Collection Elvas 4*

Vila Galé Collection Elvas is a contemporary four-star hotel in the heart of Elvas’s UNESCO-listed historic centre. The hotel occupies the carefully restored former Convent of São Paulo, retaining features of the original building, including its cloister, while introducing modern interiors and facilities.

The hotel has 79 rooms, including seven duplex suites. Its décor takes inspiration from Portuguese military fortifications, reflecting the important role Elvas has played in the country’s history.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and the Satsanga Spa, with a heated indoor pool, hydromassage pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym and treatment rooms. The Versátil restaurant is the hotel’s main dining room, while Inevitável serves Portuguese and regional Alentejo cuisine. There is also the Fidelio Bar.

Its central location makes it a convenient base for exploring the castle, the Amoreira Aqueduct and the impressive fortifications surrounding Elvas. Further afield, guests can visit the Christ Museum in Sousel or cross the border into Spain to explore Mérida and Cáceres, both UNESCO World Heritage cities.
