Pousada Convento Tavira 5*

Pousada Convento de Tavira is a historic hotel in the centre of Tavira, housed within the restored 16th-century Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça. Originally founded for Augustinian friars, the building retains many of its historic features, including its cloisters, vaulted ceilings and central courtyard.

The Pousada has 36 rooms and suites, some of which were created from the former convent cells. Rooms combine traditional features with contemporary furnishings and overlook the courtyard, garden or swimming pool.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by gardens and sun loungers. Massages are available in a dedicated treatment room overlooking the garden and pool.

The Mouraria restaurant occupies the former convent refectory and serves regional Algarve cuisine, including local fish, seafood and meat dishes. The hotel also has a bar, with poolside service available during the summer.

Situated in the heart of Tavira, the Pousada is within walking distance of many of the town’s key attractions, such as the Roman Bridge, the Tavira Castle, and the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo. Its central location makes it a perfect base for exploring the town’s rich history and the nearby Ria Formosa Natural Park.
