Pousada Convento Évora 5*

Pousada Convento Évora is located in the heart of Évora’s UNESCO-listed historic centre, between the city’s Gothic cathedral and Roman Temple. Praça do Giraldo, the University of Évora and many of the city’s main historic sights are also within easy walking distance.

The Pousada occupies the former 15th-century Convento dos Lóios, also known as the Convent of São João Evangelista. The building retains many of its original Gothic and Manueline features, including arched doorways, vaulted ceilings, stonework and cloistered walkways. Traditional Portuguese tiles and large wooden doors add to its distinctive monastic atmosphere.

Many of the rooms occupy the former monks’ cells and reflect the original dimensions and layout of the convent. The Loios Restaurant serves traditional Alentejo and Portuguese cuisine in a dining area overlooking the cloister. The outdoor swimming pool is set within the peaceful inner courtyard, surrounded by the historic convent walls.
